Supporting Our Military Families OASIS Ascent is In-Network with TriWest

Military life comes with a unique set of challenges, and those challenges can take a toll on the entire family. Frequent relocations, deployments, and the stress of reintegration can disrupt a teen’s emotional stability, academic performance, and sense of identity. For some teens, the pressure builds quietly until it shows up as anxiety, depression, behavioral issues, or withdrawal.

We Understand the Unique Challenges Military Families Face

At OASIS Ascent, we recognize the strength it takes to serve and the strength it takes to seek help. We are proud to partner with TRICARE to provide military families with greater access to the life-changing care we offer through our TRICARE residential treatment center.

Our commitment to military families goes beyond insurance coverage. We understand the impact that military culture, transitions, and stress can have on teens, and we’re here to help your teen reconnect with their family, and pursue a healthier path forward.

As one of the trusted TRICARE residential treatment centers, OASIS Ascent offers expert support, trauma-informed therapy, and academic continuity for military-connected youth.

You don’t have to figure this out alone. We’ll help you understand your TRICARE coverage and answer any questions you have about admissions.

What Your Teen Will Receive in Residential Treatment at OASIS Ascent

When a teen is struggling with their mental or emotional health, residential treatment can provide the structure, support, and clinical care they need to heal. TRICARE typically covers the essential services involved in residential treatment for adolescents, as long as the care is deemed medically necessary and pre-authorized.

As part of the TRICARE residential treatment center network, OASIS Ascent provides a comprehensive continuum of care tailored to meet the distinct needs of military families and their teens.

Expert Guidance for Insurance and Financial Clarity

When navigating a mental health crisis, dealing with insurance and funding can be overwhelming. As a military family, you need efficiency and clarity, and our highly experienced admissions and utilization review team will assist your family throughout the insurance review process. We complete a verification of benefits (VOB) to break down your benefits, including amounts paid toward deductibles and out-of-pocket maximums, providing you with a clearer idea of your financial obligations. Although OASIS Ascent is typically out-of-network with most insurance plans, our team is dedicated to helping families secure the best possible insurance coverage by advocating directly to insurance companies and outlining medically necessary services. We will attempt to obtain pre-authorization for all families prior to admission to ensure you have the necessary coverage.

Immediate Peace of Mind with 24/7 Safety and Structure

Parents need to feel confident that their child is safe and supported during a crisis, allowing them to rest and focus on their own well-being. OASIS Ascent prioritizes the immediate safety and well-being of teens in crisis by providing a safe and secure residential environment. Your teen will receive professional support 24-hours a day, with continuous monitoring to ensure they remain safe throughout their stay. Our multidisciplinary team, including qualified mental health professionals, nurses, and support staff, are rigorously trained to handle mental health crises and utilize tested crisis intervention techniques to de-escalate situations and manage distress.

A Comprehensive, Portable Roadmap for Future Care

Military families often face relocation or transitions of care. OASIS Ascent provides clarity and direction by conducting a comprehensive, in-depth assessment process designed to uncover the deeper root causes of your teen's distress, laying a foundation for lasting healing. The program includes a comprehensive psychological evaluation, genetic testing, psychiatric assessments, and academic testing. This thorough process helps clarify or correct prior misdiagnoses, ensuring that future providers. Whether at home or during a move, receive a detailed roadmap for ongoing treatment. The Comprehensive Assessment Report gives parents insight into how their child thinks, feels, and views the world, helping them communicate more effectively.

Focused, Short-Term Stabilization for Rapid Recovery

For families needing intensive support without a long-term commitment, OASIS Ascent offers a short-term residential program focused on stabilization and assessment. The average length of stay is approximately 50 to 70 days. During this period, we move beyond the "band-aid solution" often provided by short inpatient stays, integrating group therapy, individual therapy, and school integration right away. Our goal is to stabilize your teen through a consistent daily routine and evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), equipping them with resilience and coping skills necessary to manage intense emotions.

Intensive Support to Heal the Entire Family System

A mental health crisis affects the entire family, and healing requires family involvement. OASIS Ascent focuses on the entire family system through intensive support services. This includes weekly family therapy sessions where certified therapists help parents and family members understand how to support their teen's recovery. Parents are also encouraged to participate in our weekly parent support groups, offering a safe space to find comfort and support from others who have faced similar challenges. This intensive focus on family bonds, communication, and shared skills prepares the entire family for a successful transition once the teen returns home.
